About Us
Brookfield is one of 12 component school districts of the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES and utilizes its services to allow more opportunities to students. High school students have the opportunity to take college courses through distance learning and Brookfield's Regents success rate is one of the highest in Central New York. State-of-the art technology is readily available to all students. Small class sizes enable students to have more opportunities in the classroom.
The Brookfield Central School District has an enrollment of 275 students and an instructional staff of 32 teachers and administrators.
The community strongly supports the school and its activities. As the center of the community, the district enjoys substantial community attendance at all of its events including musicals, interscholastic sports competitions, science fairs, graduation as well as other events.
Brookfield is a small country town, with a population at 2,000, located in the southeastern corner of Madison Country. Brookfield has a strong agricultural history that continues today.
The township's forested rolling hills are populated with many species of animals native to New York including whitetail deer, turkeys and ruffed grouse.
Brookfield also hosts the Madison County Fair.
Brookfield is located about 20 minutes from Utica, less than 45 minutes from Syracuse and a half hour from Cooperstown.
It is an excellent location for professional and personal growth, with major institutions nearby. Syracuse University, Utica College, Hamilton College, Colgate University, SUNY IT, MVCC, and the Pratt Institute/Utica are all in driving distance.
There are no limits to the recreational opportunity available, including hunting, fishing, skiing, camping, canoeing, hiking, golfing, swimming and boating, to name a few.
